Homosexual marriage, agree or disagree?

Homosexual are people whose physiology has something wrong; the hormone of their opposite gender is too high, so they have the romantic and sexual attraction with the person has the same gender with them. Up to now, the homosexual marriage is still a highly discerning probem. In many developed countries like the US, Britain or England..,the homosexual can marry whom they love, but in Vietnam, they are not allowed to do that because of the fixed idea about the homosexual settled in our mind for ages. Since we were born, all of us have the same civil rights. If you and I who are in normal gender can marry whom we love, why the homosexual are not. From my point of view, I do agree with the homosexual marriage.
We know that once a person was born, he has his own civil rights such as the living right, educated right, married right...These rights are guaranteed by the constitution. Moreover, in the Independence Day_2/9/1945_in Ba Dinh Square, uncle Ho said that "Everyone equals in interests and must be equaled in interests". It means every human being has the same interests and no one is exceptional including the homosexual. We cannot dispossess them of their rights with the reason that they are homosexual. If we do, we will completely contrast to our constitution and the saying of uncle Ho in the Declaration of Independence. The homosexual have no mistake; the problem here is that their opposite gender hormone is too high, so they love the person has the same gender with them. In term of love, we cannot deny that the foudation of marriage is the love. If a homosexual love each other, they absolutely can marry. No one want to be a homosexual, but we can not choose our gender. It is a pity for people belong to the third gender. In some developed countries, homosexua marriage is acceptable, and be secured by the law. I completely agree with this.
Many people say that the most important role of the family is producing the younger genneration for the society, but how can a homosexual family have a baby? According to me, this is not a serious problem. Thanks to the revolution of the medicine and modern technology, the female homosexual couple can apply the artificial insemination to have their own baby or they can adopt a baby from the orphan home and bring him up as their son. This even reduce the proportion of orphanizes in society. The statistics result of some developed counties showed that the proportion of orphanizes in their country was greatly decresing because these children were adopted by many homosexual families. We can see the advantages here; these children are brought up in better condition; the government also save national budget as well.
Several people wonder if children who adopted and brought up by homosexual familis can have normal psychology and physiology like other children. In fact, living together under a roof for a long time, the psychology and physiology of these children can be affected especially when they reach to the age of puberty. For me, this is not the concern of these homosexual families only; it is also the concern of all people in society. The government can pass a law that once a homosexual couple adopt a child, they have to undertake that the child will be specially educated to have normal spychology and physiology. The educated form is very various such as let the child participate in some social organizations or social clubs; have the child be educated in special school...All of these will define the gender of the child. My friend Tri, who is the caption of a Boy Scout club, said that many homosexual children joined in his club, and through many activities, he can help these children define their gender themselves. This way is really usefull; all can be solved effectively, so I think there is no reason to prevent arbitrarily homosexual marriage.
With the liberty and equality of a citizent, the homosexual is appropriate to marry whom they love, and I completely agree with this. We should erase the fixed idea about the homosexual settled in our mind for ages. Looking into other countries, people can do that, so why we cannot?. One more time, I strongly agree with the marriage of the homosexual.

The Sen Dolta of the Khmer

Sen Dolta_one of the most important festival of the Khmer_is taken place on the 29th, 30th and 31st of the August every year. "Sen Dolta" in Khmer tongue means "worshiping the ancestors", so it is celebrated to pray for the spirits of their ancestors. Beside that the Sen Dolta is also a good occasion for the whole family to reunite. In three-day festival, the Khmer have chance to exchange relations and tighten the bonds of friendship with others through many activities and ceremonies.
On the first day, each Khmer family prepare for the reception ceremony by tidying and cleaning their ancestors' braves. In the early morning, they visit and decorate these braves with lots of flowers. At home, an altar is built in the most soleumn place of the house. Four bowls of rice, three cups of wine and some traditional dishes are laid on the altar; the incenses are burn; candles are lit. Afterwards, the head of the family pour the wine to welcome the spirits of their ancestors. The Khmer believe that their ancestors will visit and stay with them in three-day festival. After the ritual, the whole family have meal together. In the evening, the pagoda yard is lived up by the traditional arts; Khmer women in colorful dresses dance the Lam-thol while the men whistle and sing the Five Notes song. They sing, dance, drink and enjoy the festival all night.
The second day is very special with the buffalo raking contest_the annual contest celebrated for people in that area. The preparation for the contest must be done carefully before that. Each contestant choose two of buffaloes and train them in one month. During this time, the buffaloes is taken special care and menu to have health secured. For example, they drink fresh coconut milk, and eat eggs every day; take a shower, and be dried by a soft towel. The raking contest is extremly fascinating. The buffaloes in the control of their driver try to defeat their enemies in order to take the colorful tintinnabulum as an award for the winners.
The final day, people prepare for the farawell ceremony. A boat made from the ochrea of the banana tree is the most necessary thing in this ceremony. According to the Khmer's belief, this boat will drive their ancestors to the hades, so it is decorated colorfully. The family also have a farawell meal. The head of the family take some food put into a small bowl and lay it into the boat. He also scatters some salt, rice on the boat. After the ritual, the boat is dropped on a river or a lake near their house. Then the whole family enjoy the meal together. From that time, the festival ends; people go on their normal life, and prepare for a new crop.
Sen Dolta is special occasion of the Khmer in the South. This is a good chance for them to show the appreciation to their ancestors, and relax after a hard havest. Beside that it is also vary the Vietnamese's culture; make our culture more diversity than ever.

Effects of the earthquake.

Earthquake is one of the most dangerous natural disasters that cause serious effects on the society. An earthquake comprises of many kinds of waves in which the Seismic is the most remarkable one. It directly causes the damaging of structures; destroys the nation’s economy; leads to tragic tsunami as well.

Seismic wave is one kind of energy waves that naturally exist in an earthquake. It dramatically shakes the ground surface in vertical and horizontal when it passes over. It causes serious destruction and directly affects to local people’s life. Once earthquake occurs, the buildings, bridges, dams, art monuments…which are not specially constructed will collapse; people cannot escape from these structures will be perished under the destruction. For a tremendous earthquake about 7 to 8 Richter, thousands of people are killed; cities are in ruin; millions are homeless because of the shaking. Viewing the city after a quake, we see nothing but the fallen houses, the death and the cracking ground. Shaking also leads to the pollution. The air is covered with a blanket of dust; rivers and lakes are stuffed up with full of broken brick, garbage…Living in this condition, people will catch many diseases. All of these affect directly to human life.

Beside the destruction and bad effects on human life, earthquake also makes the nation’s economy get stuff. For agriculture, all crops and harvest will be destroyed; broken dams cause floods and wash away all agricultural produce. For industry, factories, companies, workshops, headquarters… collapse. All the remain is the destruction, so they cannot produce or manufacture anything. Moreover, the government spends all budgets to aid people first after that they rebuild these structures. However, it is not easy for a country has just passed over an earthquake to rebuild the economy in a short term; it even takes 20 to 50 years to keep up with the state of itself before the quake. In 20 to 50 years, global economy has new development, so that country hardly can keep pace with others in the world. In general, like other disasters earthquake badly affects to nation’s economy.

Once an earthquake happens, it can lead to other disasters; the most dangerous one is the tsunami. The quake often occurs in the depth of the oceans, and when it happens, it releases the seismic wave. This wave travels more slowly in the liquid than it does on the ground surface, so when it is in the ocean, it seems to be harmless though it is traveling in the speed of light. As soon as reaching the coast side, it makes giant waves like high and long wall of water and devastates coastal regions. The tsunami even causes more destruction than the earthquake. Although being the consequence of the earthquake, the tsunami does not always occur. People do not pay much attention to its alert signals, and the result appears very serious. For example, threatening tsunami in Japan, Indonesia, Nicaragua in 1992 which occurred at night without any alert signals destroyed and devastated all the local communities.

In conclusion, earthquake destroys structures, kills people; affects directly to nation’s economy; leads to more tragic disaster_Tsunami. We cannot avoid the destruction, but we can reduce it by designing special buildings that can stay long with the shaking, and equipping the tsunami alert system in the coastal regions.

Kinds of people

Living in society, we have to contact many people in different characters. Have you ever wonder why this person has short temper while the other is very calm?. The answer is the differences in our psychology. Each of us is unique with our psychology characteristic, so how many kinds of people among billions in this society? Basing on researches of many psychologists, although we are different, we still have some characteristics relate to one in four disposition that is also the basic for us to classify people into four kinds_ short temper, calm, melancholy, active.

The first kind is short temper people also known as the man of moods. Due to the influence of the hot disposition that has more occupation of enthusiasm than inhibition people in this type tend to show up all their emotion whenever they feel happy or angry. Short temper people is specialized by living openly with others; working actively and confidently; thinking and doing what they think; like challenging themselves … Besides those strong points, the weakness like too hurry when doing something; envious and fond of surpassing others; impatient and easy to give up when facing with difficulties are still exist. Truong phi that is a character in Tam Quoc Dien Nghia novel is a symbolic example of short temper people. He never thinks thoroughly before doing something; believes that everything can be solved by physical power. People in this kind interact well with new environment, but they are easy to lose temper; cannot do important work.

Calm people is the second type. Like the name, people belong to this kind are very calm because of the balance between the enthusiasm and the inhibition. They hardly show their emotion or feelings; it is difficult to guess what they think even looking into their eyes. Well consider before doing something; carefully acting; cleverly controlling the situation are features of this kind. They are absolutely opposite to short temper people. If you had read Tam Quoc Dien Nghia novel before, you can immediately recognize that Quan Vu belongs to calm people type. Basing on those previous features, we can conclude people in this kind are suitable for jobs need strong standpoint, managing and controlling skills.

Another kind that is equivalent with the weak disposition is melancholy people. In the weak disposition, the rate of both enthusiasm and inhibition is very low, so we often feel the anxiety, worried, sadness in their eyes; the tiredness covers all their face. They have soft voice, silently live separate others; do not want to have too much relationship. That lifestyle lead them think a lot, passive with the change of the environment, cannot stand being under pressure and easy stressed.

The last one is the active people. By the affection of flexible disposition, people in this kind are very voluble and vivacious. They think and absorb deeply from the root of the problem; have many new ideas; live and work in new environment easily; like widening relationship; make friend easily. However, sometimes they tend to be very hasty and hurry when doing something; self-conceited; put themselves over others. Active people is suitable for jobs require the diplomacy.

Four kinds of disposition stand for four kinds of people_ short temper, calm, melancholy and active. Inside each person does not only have one kind of disposition, but that is the combination of many kinds in which has one kind surpassing others. The disposition that has more affection on people is the strong foundation of people classifying system.

Qualities of a good global citizen.

Global citizen is a new and popular phrase that is not only using among the youth in Vietnam but the youth in all over the world as well. Using this phrase quite often, but many of us still do not understand exactly about global citizen. Who are they? Of course we can answer directly that global citizen are people who live, study or work in many countries; they can speak different languages ,and have lots of nationalities. However, Are these enough to build a good global citizen? In fact, these are just the need factor not the enough one. Base on the attitude towards oneself and society we need three qualities _self fulfillment, empathy, awareness _to become a good global citizen.

The first quality is the self-fulfillment. We can understand this quality as the willingness to improve ourselves. It means a global citizen always try to strengthen his weakness; to be more dynamic, knowledgeable, confident; actively take part in social activities; creatively working with new ideas; joining in some skill clubs or social campaign; confide in ourselves and dare to talk what we think. These days, more and more improvement book are published; the proportion of people take part in social club is rising. They are strong evidences show that the youth now concern much about self-fulfillment. We should put effort to improve our weakness. As Asian people, we have to pass over the destiny, the shyness that are settled in our mind for a long time. To do that we can live openly with others to absorb new ideas, participate with them to improve cooperating skills. We need to define our goals and try to reach them. Indeed, many young people can do it. Ky Anh, Lam and Trieu_three students created the Chat Ola_ is a symbolic example. They formed the idea of application software from a common demand that is chatting freely with the lowest fee. This demand became their motivation, and the result takes time, but if we do, our house will stay long with the time.

Another quality of a good global citizen is the empathy. Empathy is our attitude towards people’s sorrow and depression; the feeling that other’s pain is like ours. Through the mass media, we know that every day more and more people have to face with the hunger; millions died of AIDS; uprisings occur and lead people to the homeless state… If we feel sorry to see these sorrows, that means we have possess the empathy. In our country, some young students volunteer to bring knowledge to children in highlands, others spend their free time to look after victims of Agent Orange or play with children in orphan homes. They are worthy of being a global citizen. It means not only these works are worth, but any actions no matter how they are if we do with all our empathy are all worth. In brief, global citizens are empathetic with other’s pain and try to release it.

Finally yet importantly, it is awareness. How can we understand about the awareness? Awareness is something relate to our moral. It is the aware of what is right, and what is wrong; what we need to do, and what we should not do. From this awareness, we can see our responsibilities and our duties not only for ourselves but also for the world. Being a person in this world, we have to pay attention to global problems like the pollution, shorted of fresh water, climate changed…, and have attitude about them. A person who is knowledgeable, good at foreign languages, goes to many countries is not a global citizen if he lives in this world but do not care about the world just lives for himself. On contrary, a 70-year-old man can be a global citizen though he cannot speak any English words, never goes out of his village because he and others in the Green Campaign join hand to grow trees .Although the work is very small, it shows his awareness about his duty to solve a global problem.

To become a good global citizen, we need many factors, but viewing on the side of the attitude, the self-fulfillment, the empathy, the awareness are three main qualities we must archive. Being the future of the society, we should join hand with the youth in all over the world to make our planet better and better.

How students can survive from the context of inflation.

Inflation occurs and causes many problems in which price rising is the biggest one. It affects many people especially the students. Depending on family in finance and now facing with the "price storm", students have to undergo a difficult period. Besides concentrating on study, they have to care much about the cost of living which is rising every day. How can they do to survive from this stage? As a student, I found that inspite of difficulties, students as you and me still can survive if we know how to manage our budget, try to get a part time job and start saving money.

With the same budget as in normal stage, it is not easy to spend in high inflation time, but if we know how to manage our budget, we can balance our life without difficulties. To do this, we can measure the amount of money we need for a day after that divide our budget into many parts depends on days of a month. This way helps us balance our money in a month. Many students spend too much money at the begining of the month, and the result is they have to use instant food in some days at the end. Other thing we should know is how to distinguish things we need from things we like for not waste money on unnecessary things. It seems very easy, but it is not easy at all especially for girls; they are often attracted by lovely things and waste money on them which are almost worthless. Next, before going to the supermarket, we should make a list of things we will buy. Doing this has special meaning; it does not only save time but also prevent us from spending more money than we suppose. After buying something no matter it cheap or expensive, we should note down it into a notebook for checking if things we bought are worth or worthless to cut back them next time. These managing budget ways are not too difficult, but they are really usefull for students in this high inflation.

Finding a part time job is the permanent solution that every students think about in this stage. To have chance to get a job, we have to have free time and know our strengh. Some common part time jobs are tutor, waiter, babysister, casher...These jobs are often annouced on TV or in the newspapers; we should pay attention to these and choose one suitable. A part time job helps us a lot in this stage; we can support ourselves in finance and cut back the burden on our parents' shoulder. Inflation does not affect students only, it also affects other classes in society and their parents are not exceptional. Once we can get a part time job, they are released from the financial care for us. Having a job is good, but we have to concentrate more on our study if we do not we may fail the exams and have to pay much money for studying again.

You wonder how can we save when the budget we have is not enough for us to use? We absolutely can if we find the right ways. We should check our pockets, bags or other coners of our flat regularly to collect coins and exchange money that will make us surprisesurprised; we can collect and keep them in a box to save. Another way is cutting back money for clothing, shoes and only buy things we really need. Some girls spend too much money on clothing, but they do not use them at all; there are some clothes they even never try. These days the petrol and gas price is rising rapidly, we can use public transportation instead of using their motorbike to save a great deal of money for petrol. The last way also the most effective one is using secondhand products. For example, if we need CDs or books, we can find them in secondhand shops. These products will be much cheaper than those in the bookstores while their quality is still guaranteed. Having these effective ways, we can save a big amount of money even when we have to frugal in our living.
